Спасибо за ответ, но после изучения лицензии проблема остается. Или я не 
туда смотрю, или чего-то не понимаю.
 Перед скачиваением просят согласиться с лицензией. Приведу выдержки, 
хотя я ее прочитал всю внимательно  3 раза. Полный текст на странице для 
скачивания, но ссылку на нее дать не могу, точно такая же, за 
исключением номера версии, доступна здесь:

reproduce internally and use internally the binary form of the Software

and testing your Java applets and applications intended to run on the 
Java platform ("Programs").

2. License to Distribute Software. Subject to the terms and conditions 
of this Agreement, including, but not limited to Section 4 (Java 
Technology Restrictions) of these Supplemental Terms, Sun grants you a 
non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to reproduce and 
distribute the Software, provided that (i) you distribute the Software 
complete and unmodified (unless otherwise specified in the applicable 
README file) and only bundled as part of, and for the sole purpose of  
running, your Programs, (ii) the Programs add significant and primary 
functionality to the Software, (iii) you do not distribute additional 
software intended to replace any component(s) of the Software (unless 
otherwise specified in the applicable README file), (iv) you do not 
remove or alter any proprietary legends or notices contained in the 
Software, (v) you only distribute the Software subject to a license

Я не вижу как из этого следует, что я могу на законных основаниях 
устанавливать и использовать JRE, так как я не проектирую, не 
разрабатываю и не тестирую Java applets. Также я не поставляю Программы 
(а по условию я могу распространять JRE только с Программами).  Я хочу 
использовать уже существующие апплеты и плагины к ООо. Абсолютно неясно, 
могу ли я ставить копии  на другие машины. По идее, лицензия идеально 
подходит  разработчикам ООо и Java-plugins к нему, если бы не 
обязательство бросаться грудью на амбразуру за родной Sun, буде у того 
возникнут проблемы.

Поймите меня правильно, это не праздное любопытство, дома я бы все это 
поставил и спокойно пользовался, но в организации рисковать не хочется, 
особенно с нашими методами борьбы за лицензионную чистоту, когда все 
мордами в пол. Я просто не могу понять - можно пользоваться JRE, или 
нет? Просто кажется легче его снести, чем понять пункты этой лицензии. 
Или ставить всем Оперу.


P.S. А насчет возможности скачать - Oracle тоже можно скачать, причем с 
официального сайта. А вот пользоваться....
