World's First Textbooks on OpenOffice.org Published
Visibooks publishes new illustration-based textbooks on OpenOffice.org

Frederick, MD, March 29, 2006 - Visibooks, LLC, a publisher of
illustration-based computer class textbooks, has published the first school
textbooks on OpenOffice.org.

An increasing number of schools in the U.S. and worldwide are using and
teaching OpenOffice.org, a free, open-source suite of word processing,
presentation, spreadsheet, and database programs. To serve these schools,
Visibooks has published the first series of textbooks that help students
learn OpenOffice.org programs.

Visibooks has published four new textbooks on the programs that make up the
OpenOffice.org 2.0 office suite: Base, Calc, Impress, and Writer. The titles
are The Visibooks Guide to Base 2.0, The Visibooks Guide to Calc 2.0, The
Visibooks Guide to Impress 2.0, and The Visibooks Guide to Writer 2.0.

These new textbooks are based on pictures, not words. Large screenshots show
students what to do, while short instructions walk them through tasks. A
typical computer class textbook contains over 50,000 words, but Visibooks'
textbooks on OpenOffice.org contain only around five thousand.

Visibooks, LLC, based in Frederick, MD, publishes illustration-based
computer class textbooks. Visibooks textbooks are sold and licensed to
schools and corporations worldwide at www.visibooks.com.
