Нет, в этом смысле ничего не изменится. Позволю себе процитировать
Франка Мейеса, главного по Text Formatting engine в OO/SO:

If you do an interactive
hyphenation, any hypen position you choose in the dialog will insert
an soft hyphen  in the paragraph string. This means of course, that
these ####soft hyphens will remain in the string, even if you change
something else####, e.g., insert some more text or force different line
breaks by changing the font size of the paragraph. ###These soft hyphens,
which are not positioned at the end of a line anymore are not printed###
(you can disable the appearence of these soft hyphens on the screen by
deselecting "View-Field Shadings").

####This is the main feature of soft hyphens.#### They are expanded if they
are at the end of a line, otherwise they are not expanded and not
printed.

Выделения от yours truly. Я уже предложил выключать Field Shadings по
default. 

Кстати, мне очень интересно, вот AEN все менюхи по русски
называет. Неужели тут народ русский перевод использует???
